Payson Seventh-Day Adventist Church
Our Duty and Challenge
The missionary spirit must be kept awake; and in order for this spirit to live, the members of the church must be laborers together with God. It is time that unselfish, consecrated workmen should enter into families who have already accepted the truth, and yet have not worked for its advancement.
("To Every Man His Work", March 17, 1898.)
Welcome to the Payson Seventh-day Adventist Church website. I am delighted you are taking a few moments to learn more about our church family. As a church, we believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and that salvation is a free gift. This is the good news of the Gospel that we want to share with the world!
Every person who enters our door is important to us. We believe in strong relationships and fellowship. We also believe in serving our community. Our mission is "to teach the good news of Jesus in our community and beyond so all will come to know, trust, and share the truths of the Bible in word and action." Our prayer and hope is that everyone will feel loved and welcome at Payson SDA Church.
Please stop by our church on Saturday morning, we’d love to get to know you.
May the Lord richly bless you,
Pastor Vince Woolsey

Who We Are
As a Christian church, Seventh-day Adventists are a faith community rooted in the beliefs described by the Holy Scriptures.
"Our vision is to lead the community in spiritual transformation, Christian service, and fellowship."
The local church was founded in 1970 by Gar and Eleanor Baybrook who lived and worked in Phoenix but came to Payson every weekend to hold bible studies with a few interested residents.
As interest developed they were able to form a company of believers and then, upon retirement, moved here permanently, and started Leaves of Autumn Book Store. They were then able to get the classification of an actual church. and meetings were held for several years in the upstairs of the book store.
In 1979 the local members decided to start an elementary church school and built a school house on property that Baybrook had purchased on East Wade Lane.
The following year work was started on building a sanctuary building on the adjoining property.
